“Once we are clear on how we have right-standing before HaShem [the LORD] , then we are motivated to follow His commandments.”

-Tim Hegg, Legalism: Some Thoughts

“And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”

1 John 2:3-6

Questions to ponder as we search the Scriptures:

  • What were/are the commandments of God?
  • Are the commandments of God and the commandments of Yeshua really different?
  • What does it mean that the Spirit will write the Law on our hearts?
  • Does God want us to love him through obedience to him commandments?

Here’s a short article about legalism vs obedience. Worth considering and pondering…
