Article: The Necessity of Torah

The Word in the ruins of Corinth

We are beyond blessed to have a God who not only created us, but also sustains us. We, who are his children, both natural born and adopted, have a unique opportunity, and frankly, an infinite indebtedness, to sit at his feet while he cares for us. YHWH is continually growing us, his children, in knowledge and understanding of himself, testing us so our love deepens, and nourishing us through his Word.

YHWH’s Word is sweeter than honey. His Word is the Bread of Life that feeds us daily. We pant for him like a deer pants for water. His word is like the rain to the parched earth. He is our sweet food and refreshing water. I cling to his feet and pray that I never trade his nourishment for what does not satisfy. YHWH, and his Word that is inseparable from himself, is our sustenance at the most basic, foundational level. For all children of YHWH, natural and adopted, the entire God-breathed Word, is relevant, applicable, necessary and life-sustaining. The Word of YHWH is life.

I do not turn aside from your rules,
for you have taught me.
How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Through your precepts I get understanding;
therefore I hate every false way.

Psalm 119:102-104

Our first article is titled The Unity of Scripture, The Necessity of Torah.  We hope that this encourages you to consider YHWH’s entire Word as foundational, relevant, and life-changing.

      Thanks, Jean. God has been gracious in teaching us his ways. It has been an absolute joy to walk with him and the result is a peace that is beyond understanding.
